MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM ME TO YOU!
This is Week 4 of the Stampotique Designers' Challenge hosted by our Design Team Coordinator Kim Howard. Although the challenge is the same, this last week is another chance to enter and win a $30 gift certificate from Stampotique Originals for the yummy stamps you see here.
I made an ATC for the challenge this week. Perhaps not a Christmas-y creation, but one that has been on my mind as I ponder New Year's resolutions. The message is a simple one, but finding--or perhaps, creating--the time to read is somewhat problematic for some. Whether you decide to read Shakespeare, Thomas H. Cook, The Mayo Clinic Diabetes Diet, or the Bible, join me in reading SOMETHING in 2014!
For those not familiar with an ATC, it is an Artist Trading Card, similar to a baseball trading card, save for the theme. They can be gifted, traded, or collected, but never sold. For my ATC today, I have used two Stampotique Originals' stamps: Livres, by artist France Papillon, and Tinglyitchiness, by artist Daniel Torrente.
I wish you all a new year of health and happiness. Thank you for your visit today, and for your welcomed comments.
Cheers!
This is awesome Kay :)
ReplyDeleteThese red nails - so funny
I wish you a beautiful Christmas time

Love this ATC. The way he is hanging on the books as if he is deciding which one to read. Love how you used the dictionary paper as well. I love reading too and do read a few chapters every day before going to sleep. So great advice too. Enjoy the rest of your Christmas Holiday !!

I love the ATC. Does listening to an audio book count as reading?
ReplyDeleteIt certainly does, Russ! ;-)

ReplyDeleteAwesome Kay!!! I love it. I've never made an ATC and they've always intrigued me. I use to be an avid reader and would read a few books a month. Now, since I've been doing more and more art, I hardly ever pick up a book. I think the practice of reading a few chapters before going to bed may be a good habit to get back into for 2014.

I love these! I should start a small collection of these stamps.. and buy them monthly 1-2.. Never been good at ATC.. but they are something worth trying!! Especially when playing with your stamps!! Love the red festive nails here and Merry Christmas to you!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm back home and can "read" at last your post Kay (at least to start lol!...) Love this one and the great message behind... I was such a lover of books in the past.. But I have almost stopped reading.. :( I miss time so much. But I think it's a very good resolution I MUST adopt, thanks for this funny but also serious ATC!!! Hope you have had a super festive season... Mwah for you too!
ReplyDeleteLove the ATC. Reading and creating cards, art journals, etc, are my two all consuming passions, so I can really relate.
ReplyDeleteLove the cut out dictionary text. Works extremely well with the stamp. :0) x
ReplyDeleteLove this ATC - he reminds me of me in my cold/cough "leave me alone" bah humbug phase (still ongoing, sadly!!)...
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fabulous 2014, Kay!

ReplyDeleteFantastic. Love the dictionary thought bubble. Great colors on the books and the dude. I used to read all the time but since I started my blog it has taken a backseat. Maybe reading everyone's posts counts.
