"I am just a little bit nosey, so for this challenge I'd like you to use something that Santa brought you! Don't worry if you didn't get crafty stash, just use something that you recently bought for yourself. If you really want to, you could make something with the theme of something new as well. Just make sure you enjoy making it."Let me preface all this by saying than in my family, birthdays are a big deal; Christmas is all about the children. That said, it won't then surprise you that I got nothing for Christmas! But, I do have new crafty stash I acquired on a trip to my local craft store during December. OK, so I just might have gifted myself!
The newest stamp design artist to join the Stampotique Originals' family is Linda Peterson, and I applaud this addition. In fact, I have fallen in love with Hazel, Linda's signature character. There are 13 Hazel stamps, most with coordinating text stamps. I have used two today:
I hope you will join me in creating something for the Stampotique Designers' Challenge each week. The use of Stampotique Originals' stamps is not required. You can use any rubber or clear stamps (no digital stamps) that you have to participate and gain a chance to win one of two $30 gift certificates for your choice of Stampotique products. Details for submissions are here.

Black & white sure create their own impact - this looks terrific, Kay. I'm wondering if the background rays are made from little beads?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Helen. The rays were created by applying Versa Mark through one of the Tim Holtz stencils, then sprinkling it with sparkly embossing powder, then the usual heat embossing. Simple, but with flair! ;-)
DeleteCool Kay. I love the sun rays :)
ReplyDeletexx Arwen
Thank you, Arwen!

ReplyDeleteThank you, Gerrina! Sometimes CaS is the only way to go! ;-)
DeleteHi Kay, looked for you over at Stampotique today and you weren't there! Here you are. I LOVE YOUR TAG. The black with the sparkly rays and then the uncoloured stamp. Genius. Also like the way you attached the sentiment. The simple metal chain is lovely. My tag tops are seeming to get more and more bouffy. Must try your simple idea. I really like this one. Really really..... How's the birthday month going?? Hope you are getting lots.......
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gail! Loving my birthday month!

In my dreams, I travel to you, Corrie! Would that it could be so! At first, Hazel seemed a bit naked, but now I love her so!
DeleteI ALWAYS treat myself to something at Christmas!! Love this, subtle and cure xx

DeleteBeautiful CAS tag Kay, I love how you've used the stencil. I've not done any embossing in years, might just need to dig it out again!
ReplyDeleteI don't emboss a lot either, Sarah, but, when I do, it is fun!!
DeleteI love her designs too. Lovely CAS tag, Kay. I like the idea of embossing + stencil. I haven't tried that yet. On the list...

ReplyDeleteThe stencil rays are very effective, creating a very elegant finish
Delicious - so elegant and balanced in b&w. The rays are beautiful as a background and the yoga Hazel is wonderful.
