Hi Gez here, I am delighted to be your hostess for this challenge.. I love sentiments and sayings, they really say it all to me! They make a piece finished! I'd like you to share some of your favourite words with us this week! They can be a main focal point or an embellishment, it's your choice! Say it with words...A few weeks ago, I finally caved and bought the (relatively) new Finnabair Vintage Vanity Art Journal (by Prima) and am loving it! I rarely work directly in my journals anymore, so it's easy to create on my craft table, then move the work into my journal. For me, it's much less threatening to work this way. If I make a mistake or really am not happy with what I have created, well, it's just paper and I can reuse pieces and parts of my project or just recycle it. If I am working directly on a journal page, that's a different story altogether!
So here's what I have created for today's challenge. For me, this deals with being sentimental about nature, but also about how I spend my time. I want to remember to take time to breathe!
I used these Stampotique Originals' stamps in this project:
Thanks for stopping by today, and for your supportive comments! I hope you will get crafty and create something for this great challenge! You can find the details and submit your artwork here. Why not grab a chance to win one of the two $30 gift certificates for Stampotique products given away at the end of each month?
Cheers!
Your piece fits perfect in your new journal!! Gorgeous sentiment. XOXO
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely, Kay. Love the colour you've chosen, it looks so peaceful and doesn't take anything away from the girl or the quote.
ReplyDeleteI also like that you are working separately to your journal. I mostly work directly in my journal but find 'the perfect page' gets spoiled by colours coming through from the next page I've inked/sprayed, which I find a bit frustrating. So, I think I may do as you do, thank you :-)
I tried to look at this yesterday because it showed up on bloglovin but it wasn't there....boo hoo. Thanks for reminding me to breathe. xox
ReplyDeleteI like your spread Kay. Good way of working like this although I prefer to work directly in my journal. Love your colours and the sentiment is really lovely !
ReplyDeleteThank you for leaving such a lovely comment on my blog and feel free to use the sentiment. It came from Winnie de Pooh !
Corrie, Mwah ! x
This is lovely Kay. I'm with Corrie though lol. I just cover it up with paint if I make a boo boo ;) xx

Oh Kay this is beautiful! Love the sentiment and your gal stamp is perfect for the thought! Love the way that you added to the journal also, instead of right on the page- lovely! xo
ReplyDeleteLove the quote from Kahlil Gibran, it is a wonderful reminder to stop and take a breath whenever we need to just be...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous page and great colours Kay :-) x
I am so glad that I am not the only one who feels like that about working in an art journal... I would hate to tell you how many I have started and torn all the pages out of... I love the idea of making something and then sticking in into the book. Which I might add is really lovely. Finnabair anything is lovely. That happens to be one of my favourite quotes and one that I have used on a layout too. Another stunning piece Kay xox
ReplyDeleteStunning page Kay! Glimmering hope has the perfect slinky stance and flowing outfit for the subtle page, I just love the sentiment too, get the shoes off and dance in the grass :D x
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Kay and this is such a great quotestamp to use!
ReplyDeleteHi my dear Kay, I really love your sentiment too about Nature (by the way I didn't know this stamps, thanks for showcasing it here!) and your simple page is very beautiful.. A great way to start your new Finnabair journal! Have a lovely day (here it's very sunny..) Mwah! Coco
ReplyDeleteWell done Kay!!!! Your new journal will get so much love!
ReplyDeleteHi Kay...I haven't been here for a while as I wasn't art journaling but have just been reinspired by the Index Card a Day Challenge. So I am looking up all my fave art journaling blogs again. Love what you are doing and I find I am very intimidated when working directly in my good journals!
ReplyDeleteHi Kay, love it! What a delightful quote. Perfect with that image and a very natural feel to the colours. Spot on. I too an intimidated by working directly on a JP. How do you not cover the rest of the pages in paint and ink? Maybe it's just me is a super messy crafter. Big hugs
ReplyDeleteShe's wonderful, Kay, as is the quote and placement... what a fun page.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big Gibran fan - and your page spread really captures that serene, calming effect his words always have on me. Beautiful, soft and so lovely.
