If you are looking for my post for this week's Stampotique Designers' Challenge, it is immediately below.
**********
I was intrigued by the Tag Along Blog Challenge theme this week, so decided I wanted to participate. The theme is "Nature's Glory," so I set out looking at all my floral stamps. Stampotique Originals has a lot of them, but I chose something that is, by some, considered a weed because it most often grows naturally. It's called "Spidergrass." I also have a text stamp that I love, but hadn't had a chance to use. It's called "Wildflower Verse," so is just perfect!
I began by applying a few drops of two of Ranger's Archival ink reinkers on my craft mat, and added a bit of copper mixative. I smeared these around with a palette knife, then pressed my tag into the ink and smeared it around. I did this a few times until I had good coverage. Once dried, I added a bit of washi tape at the bottom to ground my flowers, then stamped my text below it. I stamped my floral image once on the left side. I then created a mask of the stamp, and stamped my image a second time over the mask on the right side, just a bit lower than the first impression. A ribbon, and done! Take a look:
If you like tags, I hope you will participate and create something fun today!
Cheers!
Hi Kay, beautiful tag, lovely colours the sun appears to be shining through the clouds and what a brilliant sentiment :D I Love this :D xx
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Love the colors
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Kay, the wash effect on the tag is lovely. xox
ReplyDeleteAny day that you get schmear stuff around on the ol' craft mat is a good day indeed. :) Love your background, Kay, and I bet it's even prettier in person with a coppery sheen. I've never seen Spidergrass either - love it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ethereal background, love how the light is trying to get through. Love both the flowers and sentiment:-) xxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - this made my heart sigh as I saw it - just lovely... gentle, natural, beautiful!

ReplyDeleteWow, beautiful! Love those colours and a great effect! Hugs, Gerrina
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tag Kay! I really love the colors you chose and the technique you did on the background-soooo pretty! And a perfect flower stamp and saying! Well done ! xo
ReplyDeleteTHAT BACKGROUND!!!!!!......I've got to try some of that mixative. The spidergrass stamp is one of my favorites in your collection.Wonderful tag Kay.
ReplyDeleteOoh Kay, love your gorgeous background. The spidergrass is a lovely stamp. Don't think I've met any in person so I don't know if it's a weed to hate but it certainly has a striking profile. Great sentiment. Not too many weeds are hated in my garden as most have the potential to be rabbit food and are therefore tolerated by me and adored by the bunnies. Thanks for your lovely comments. Hope you got your cuddle. Hugs from across the pond
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, the background looks almost photographic
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty stamps and the lovely word bands are perfect

This is gorgeous Kay, I love your background, and Spidergrass is so pretty. You couldn't have picked a better sentiment, just perfect xx
ReplyDeleteKay I love this, the copper gives it a fantastic contrast. Miss playing along, so busy never seem to just get time to play, but love keeping up with all the pics over on the Stampotique ste x
ReplyDeleteOh Kay this is lovely I love the colours and the simplicity. So striking. Just want to let you know that I have stepped down from ALL my DT commitments except 1 CSI. I am just finding it so hard at the moment to balance life and scrapping and I guess I have to put my family first. Looking after the grandies two days a week is no mean feat and I am tired too. I feel like I have lost my mojo and I get no time to just play. I want to spend some time joining in some challenges and hopefully find my love of scrapping again. I am so grateful to you for ALL of your love and support. I will still be around :D xx
ReplyDeleteKay, I love the softness and the sense of relaxation that I feel when I look at your tag. I'm a tag lover and I am so loving your tag! You have such a way about yourself that I enjoy. Thx for your inspiration.
