STAMPOTIQUE DESIGNERS' CHALLENGE 172: SPOTLIGHTING TECHNIQUE

The uber-talented Arwen McCullen is hosting the Stampotique Designers' Challenge this week, and she is challenging us to use the "spotlighting" technique.  Here's what she has to say:
Hi, Everyone!  Artwork consists of many small details that make a whole.  This week, I would like to see spotlights in your work.  Lift a small detail from your artwork to make it especially visible!
                                                                                                                     xx Arwen
The spotlighting technique was totally new to me and several others on the Design Team, so our Design Team Coordinator, Kim Howard, shared this Splitcoast Stampers tutorial.  It was simple and easy to follow (includes a video).

I used the following Stampotique Originals stamps to create my tag today:

Bowtie (Jill Penney and Daniel Torrente)
Stacked Boxes (Roc Nicholas)
Design Cube (France Papillon)

The background was created with Ranger Archival Re-inkers and alcohol.  I also used Ranger Distress Markers to color a portion of my image and a bit of washi tape to ground it.  I used my own handwriting to add the T. E. Lawrence quote, and a short piece of black rickrack to tie it all up.

Thanks for stopping by today and for taking the time to leave a comment.  Both are important to me.  Take some time this week to create your own art.  Details for submitting your work for this challenge can be found here.  At the end of the month, two names will be randomly drawn from all artists and each will win a $30 gift certificate to the Stampotique "store."

Cheers!

I must remember this technique!.. also the one to do your wonderful bakgrounds using alcohol inks and Archival re-inkers (I don't have these but I have distress re-inkers, maybe I can try with them). I didn't give it a try to it so far that's a pity! Mwah!!
