I hope you will join me this week to create a tag for the Tag Along Blog Challenge. This week's host is Deborah of The Rusty Cage, and she wants to see warm colors.
If you have been following the weather in the Northeastern part of the U.S., you know that Boston has had almost 90" of snow in the last three weeks. There has been little time for much other than shoveling snow! But, the idea of warm colors lured me in today.
I shortened a #10 manilla tag to accommodate the size of my focal image, as I did not want it to get lost. I am going to fess up right now and tell you that I used paper from The Stampers' Sampler Take Ten magazine (not sure which issue). The paper is called "Heat Wave" and was designed by Kaitlin Mendoza (for Stampington & Co.) with artist elements inspired by my dear friend Corrie Herriman.
With the background already done, I used Wendy Vecchi's "Orange Blossom" ink to add Spidergrass from Stampotique Originals over a piece of washi tape from my stash. For my sentiment, I used Ranger's Jet Black Archival ink to add another of Stampotique Originals' stamps called Wildflower Verse. A button and ribbon from my stash and done!
Come join us at The Tag Along Blog Challenge this week and every week! The new challenges post on Thursdays.
Love all the weeds and your warm thoughts on this frigid day. xox

Love the warmth of your tag, Kay (although, those white splatters could be snowballs LOL) and there's no shame in using printed paper, especially one so aptly named for a Warm Colours tag. Many thanks for playing along and hope your snow disappears too. Deb
ReplyDeleteOoh wonderful tag Kay,when the paper is as lovely as that it's a shame not to use it!
ReplyDeleteHmm the snow sounds horrendous, lucky in the south part of the UK we don't see too much of the White stuff :)
Big hugs

Love the colour and that stamp. Every time I come onto your blog I'm looking around my studio for the tinkling noise
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tag Kay!! Lovely warm colors to play with when the weather is bad. XOXO
ReplyDeleteAh hah moment!! Genius to shorten the tag to make it fit your image. Never in a million years would I have thought to do that, I simply would not have made the tag. Oh, and the other thing is, I look at those papers all the time in the magazine, thinking I'll remember to pull it out and I don't. I'm going through my mags right now and put those papers where I can see them!!! Wonderful tag btw
ReplyDeleteAnother great tag. Sorry about all the shoveling, be careful out there.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet and lovely :) :) xx
ReplyDeleteReally lovely Kay, it all works so well together, and great idea to shorten your tag. Hope you've managed to stop shoveling the snow! Enjoy your weekend xx
