Perfect timing again for me this week, as I am in need of a thank you card and "merci" is one of the few French words I know (and can spell correctly!). I used a card base from my stash and created layers by framing both sides of Authentique's "Luminous" collection with black cardstock. I stamped Mary, one of my favorite Stampotique stamps (do I always say that?) onto cream cardstock and adhered her to my card. I stamped "merci" using Inkadinkado's "Typewriter" lower case stamp set onto the same cardstock and done! Here's my card with just a bit of "French Flair" for Libby!"Although I live in Atlanta, Georgia, I spend every summer traveling vicariously around France, thanks to a bunch of boys on bicycles riding in the Tour de France! It always inspires me to create cards with a little French flair - so today I'm challenging you to do the same! Anything you can think of - the colors of France, French script, classic landmarks - whatever you'd like, just give your card a little French flair!"
I am glad that you stopped by today. I do so appreciate your visits and comments!
Yes you do always say that -LOL. That's a sweet Merci to send to someone. Love your take on the French flair. xox
ReplyDeleteSimple layout, but very nice !
ReplyDeleteI love Mary too... xx to her. You have out done yourself once again. xx

Lovely card, and a good way to keep up your French! Valerie
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely thank you card, and I love the effect of all the layering. Very inspiring and très chic!
ReplyDeleteKay, I just love all of your cards and this one is too cute. I love how "merci" looks just like it was typed from one of those heavy duty black keyed typewriter. Did you ink the edges of the card base or is that the natural color of the paper. It's really nice.
ReplyDeleteThe card base is cream, Carol, but, beyond that, BlogSpot has given the card base a frame (so it's a bit misleading). The vertical piece goes to the very edges of the card base only. Glad you liked it!
DeleteLoving your card Kay, Merci for joining in with us at Stampotique this week :) big hugs from Poppy and me, wishing you a lovely weekend xxx
ReplyDeleteThis card is lovely and perfect for the challenge !!! I love this collection of Authentique papers too (the 'Fleur de Lys" is also very suitable for a french touch, and a clever choice in my opinion my dear Kay, but I'm not very surprised...LOL). Love it. Coco xxx

ReplyDeleteGreat card Kay. Love your monochrome Mary against those luscious coloured layers. Bon bon (I think that is good, good in french, as opposed to bonbon which is candy)
