It was with great pleasure that I accepted the invitation to host the Sunday Postcard Art challenge this week! Thanks, Mandy!
For me, one of the world's mysteries is how mechanical things work, so WHEELS seemed like a super challenge. Wheels go 'round and 'round to transport us on the ground, but wheels also go 'round and 'round to entertain us in the air! Here's a great example:
In 72 years, I have been on a Ferris wheel once! That experience as a child was so frightening, I never would ride it again. For me, it was not only the sickening feeling while I was on the ride, but the dizziness that continued after the ride. So, today, I still say, "No thank you, Mr. Ferris!" If interested, you can find out more about the Ferris wheel here.
I hope you will carve out some time this week to get crafty and show me what you know about wheels! You can find the details for this challenge here.
Thanks for stopping by today and for taking a moment to leave a comment. Both are appreciated and inspire me!
Cheers!
A fabulous Ferris wheel Kay and a great way to set off the challenge!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful image Kay :)

ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous, Kay
ReplyDeleteThis is indeed a perfect 'Wheel' for this week's challenge, Kay.
ReplyDeleteI'm not very comfortable riding in ferris wheels either - I'm ok once they continue going round as the view from the top is amazing! It's the stopping while other people are getting on that bothers me, and please don't ask me to look directly down or I'd just about have a panic attack. So long as I look at the distant view, I'm ok.
Loving your postcard Kay...the last time I was on a Ferris Wheel ( many moons ago ) the wheel started going backwards and they had a job shutting it down, never been on one since!...x
ReplyDeleteGreat card that brings memories of old days ♥
ReplyDeleteA lovely postcard Kay, and no the wheel isn't for me either xx
ReplyDeletelove this Kay and inspired my own piece.
ReplyDeleteFantastic piece, Kay. And thanks for sharing your history with Ferris wheels. Everyone has had great entries, so now I wish I didn't post my dark themed piece. :-(
ReplyDeleteI love watching a Ferris wheel, but like you, I have only been on one once. I don't like the height or the swinging. And they always show in too many films where the wheel gets stuck and I just know I'd be at the top. Frightened to death! But I love these wheels in art and photos. Great theme and example Kay!
ReplyDeleteI am like you Kay, very afraid of such giant wheels!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have never been on a Ferrys wheels I must confess... :))
Lovely card today my friend, and good to hear from you again and read your blog posts!

What a fabulous postcard. Smiling at you being on a Ferris Wheel only once - I love the crazy rides and my cast-iron stomach agrees with me.
