Each month, Craft Stamper Magazine holds a TAKE IT, MAKE IT contest (which one may enter three times) specifying a theme. For January, the challenge is a simple one--just use stamping! This is my third entry into this month's contest.
I have created a tag cut from chipboard (from the back of a water color paper pad). I used Collage Pauge to adhere paper towels that had been used for mopping up after another project. I stamped the butterfly image (from Stampotique Originals) onto heavy white card stock and colored it using LePlume II markers in violet, blue and ultramarine, then blended the inks with a water brush. I cut out the butterfly, then clear embossed it and adhered it to my tag. The antennae were hand drawn. Along the two sides and bottom, I used another of the Stampotique stamps, Streamers, to form a partial border. The quote was computer generated and printed. (Thanks, Corrie Herriman, for the inspiration for this tag!)
I will submit this tag to the following challenges:
Take It, Make It (Stamping)
Stampotique Designers' Challenge (Color Splash)
Thanks for stopping by today!
This is one of your pieces of art that looks better in real life than in a picture of it. The butterfly really stands out on the tag because it wings are lifted for flight, not flat like the picture. The glossiness of the wings do not show up well in the picture compared to the real tag. This is a beautiful tag!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tag, Kay, love vibrant colors!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, love those rich jewel colours and fabulous butterfly and perfect quote

WOW WOW WOW Kay, your Tag is spectacular! When you zoom in on your Tag the background textures show, the colours are rich and warming which i adore.
ReplyDeleteYour butterfly is awesome, good to see your Marvy Le Plume pens are still working, you can just about make out the glossy wings, again your colour choices are spot on.
I will keep coming back to see your Tag again and again, oh and the sentiment is perfect too! :-) xxx
I am speechless Kay....this is STUNNING,the butterfly looks so real and the colours are just lush. This deserves to be a winner and should be framed actually ;)
