TAKE IT, MAKE IT JANUARY CHALLENGE

Welcome to my art journaling blog and to my first entry into the Take It, Make It Challenge brought to us by Craft Stamper Magazine!  My New Year's resolution is to allow myself more time for crafty endeavors!  One of the first things on my list is to enter the Take It, Make It challenges that are posted monthly by the Craft Stamper Magazine.  The January challenge is all about rubber stamping!  That's it!  Stamping.  I can do that!

A Christmas gift to myself was an order from Stampotique Originals, and it arrived just in time.  One of my new stamps is "Moth Fab" by Jill Penney and Daniel Torrente.  I was eager to use her and thought this was the perfect opportunity.  I "grounded" her with another of the Stampotique stamps called "Tenticurl" by Jo Capper-Sandon.

The inspiration for my tag today is a quote by Maya Angelou (1928-2014).  Before you scold me about the language on my tag, read a bit about this American author, poet, dancer, actress and singer!  Wikipedia shares that Angelou "recited her poem On the Pulse of Morning at President Bill Clinton's inauguration, making her the first poet to make an inaugural recitation since Robert Frost at President John F. Kennedy's inauguration."  So, when Maya speaks, I listen!

I created my background on a black tag by using strips of washi tape from my stash.  The quote was computer generated using my printer.

I will also submit this tag to the Tag Along Blog Challenge this week!

Thanks for visiting my blog today and for taking a moment to leave a comment.  Both are appreciated!

Cheers!
